Former President Donald Trump is receiving significant pushback after declaring his intention to support a primary challenge against Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) over the congressman’s stance on the latest stopgap funding bill.
Trump Calls for Massie’s Ouster
In response to Massie’s firm opposition to the government funding bill, Trump took to Truth Social, where he criticized the Kentucky Republican and pledged to ensure his removal.
“Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic ‘NO’ vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past. HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him.”

Trump did not stop there, adding:
“He’s just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight. He reminds me of Liz Cheney before her historic, record-breaking fall (loss!).”
However, the reaction from Trump’s own supporters has been anything but unified, with many voicing strong disagreement over the former president’s attack on Massie.
Conservatives Defend Massie Against Trump’s Criticism
