Her resignation comes just weeks after her appointment, with the White House confirming that Frank Bisignano, President Donald J. Trump’s nominee, is expected to be swiftly confirmed as her replacement. Until then, Leland Dudek, a top SSA anti-fraud investigator, will serve as interim commissioner.

Elon Musk Exposes Shocking Data
In a bombshell revelation, DOGE leader Elon Musk recently disclosed that the SSA database still lists tens of millions of deceased individuals as alive. A dataset Musk shared on X (formerly Twitter) suggests that over 20 million Social Security numbers remain active for people supposedly over 100 years old.
The figures include:
- 3.6 million individuals aged 110-119
- 3.4 million aged 120-129
- 3.9 million listed between 130-139
- 3.5 million aged 140-149
- 1.3 million between 150-159
- Even thousands of individuals over 200 years old, with one record showing an individual aged 360-369
Musk sarcastically commented:
“Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security.”
While it’s unclear whether fraudulent payments are being made to these accounts, the discovery raises serious concerns about how Social Security numbers may be misused to access driver’s licenses, bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages, and even voter registration.

Legal Battles Over Investigation
Efforts to probe SSA’s records have already triggered legal pushback. In a recent ruling, U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss rejected a lawsuit by the University of California Student Association (UCSA), which attempted to block DOGE from accessing SSA data.
Moss, an Obama-appointed judge, ruled late Monday that UCSA failed to demonstrate irreparable harm, a requirement for issuing a temporary restraining order (TRO)—a legal tactic frequently used by Democrats to stall investigations.
“Because the Court concludes that UCSA has failed to clear that essential hurdle, the Court’s analysis also ends there,” Moss wrote.
He further clarified that DOGE officials are legally obligated to handle all obtained data in compliance with the Privacy Act, tax laws, and other federal regulations.
