Protests Erupt in Major U.S. Cities Following Trump’s Election Victory

Protests erupted Wednesday night across Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City in response to Donald Trump’s victory in both the Electoral College and popular vote. Demonstrators gathered to voice concerns over Trump’s policies and perceived right-wing agenda.

In Chicago, crowds chanted, “Donald Trump, you fascist clown,” near the Trump International Hotel. According to Newsweek, the protest aimed to criticize U.S. support for Israel and what they labeled Trump’s “racist conservative agenda.”

Organizers had planned the rally well before election results, stating that ongoing issues, like the conflict in Gaza and police reform, required action regardless of the election’s outcome. Protesters emphasized demands for a free Palestine, an immediate arms embargo on Israel, and an end to U.S. aid for the region, while also calling for immigrant rights, community control of police, and protection of LGBTQIA+ and reproductive rights.

In Brooklyn’s Cadman Plaza Park, protesters similarly chanted for “Palestine, women’s and trans rights, and peace”, standing firmly against what they see as the rise of extremism in the U.S. under Trump’s administration.

  1. This will be the ones that have an issue with Trump and they will cause problems in January. Trump has won the presidency and the favorite vote. If they do not like it, then they can leave the US. We do not want them here. Bye Bye!!!
