Following the meeting, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed reporters, emphasizing Trump’s commitment to cutting taxes for everyday Americans.
“This will be the largest tax cut in history for middle-class, working Americans.”
She outlined the core priorities of the plan, including:

Republican Leadership Confirms ‘Framework’ in Place
The meeting, which lasted five hours, ended with House Speaker Mike Johnson signaling that a deal is nearly finalized.
“We worked out the framework for what we believe will be the path forward,” Johnson told reporters. “We’ll meet again tonight to finalize details and likely make an announcement tomorrow.”
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise echoed this sentiment, describing how Trump personally engaged in the negotiations to hammer out the final details.
“President Trump was very engaged throughout the meeting. We spent time on a whiteboard literally breaking down different numbers to get everyone on the same page.”
