“The CCP thinks the principal value of TikTok is the ability to impact public opinion at a critical moment,” he continued. “When I met with leadership in Taiwan, they described how Chinese social media propaganda is flooding their country, setting the stage for possible future economic, political, or even military action.”

Despite his growing criticisms, Pence acknowledged that the first Trump administration made historic strides in shifting U.S.-China relations, particularly with the implementation of tariffs and tougher trade restrictions.
